Stories of the uninsured: louise
Louise is a single woman and works a full-time job. Her employer recently changed health plans and the new insurance plan does not allow her access to the doctor she had been seeing for the past 20 years – a doctor who is familiar with Louise and the cancer she has been fighting for most of her adult life. Fortunately, Louise’s cancer is in remission but she fears everyday that it will return. If it does, Louise will not be able to afford the out-of-pocket costs to get treatment and will be forced to travel a great distance to a new doctor for treatment.
